Re: Starting and running issues
So well over a week and still no go, starting now to test my patience!
Bought and fitted new plugs the other day, also replaced the HT leads and coil packs.
Its spinning up easily enough, but not starting. I have tried changing the HT leads to different plug positions, and switching around the connectors on the coils. At present on both coils, I have orange going to the negative, and on coil one (left coil as sat on bike) have white to positive and on coil number to the black with green stripe (or something like green!!) to positive. The HT leads from coil 1, closest to positive terminal goes to outer left cylinder, and closest to negative goes to inner left cylinder. And on coil number 2, the HT lead closest to positive goes to the inner right cylinder and the lead closest to the negative goes to the outer right cylinder.
Is this right? if not what should it be??
I have also noticed that when in second gear, clutch out and stand up, hitting the start button jolt the bike forward and would continue to do so for the duration of holding in the starter button.
SO whats thedeal with that? is this related to my problem?

that is perfectly normal, you are just starting the bike in gear.....this should happen no matter what gear you are in,1st,3rd,4th,5th or 6th as well.Psychosomatic88 wrote:I have also noticed that when in second gear, clutch out and stand up, hitting the start button jolt the bike forward and would continue to do so for the duration of holding in the starter button.

Re: Starting and running issues
I dont think it was supposed to do that, having some kind of clutch switch I thought.
My RSV never did (cant remember what any other of my bikes did) and just popped out side to check on the Honda and that wot start in any gear (doesnt even attempt to), but fires up with the clutch pulled in.

Re: Starting and running issues
if it has the clutch switch then it would not attemp to start at all,not even turn over like you say!!!!
so that is not your problem,as you say the bike turns over but does not fire up!!!
