Just to add there are more than one type of Magtek wheel, the ones fitted to the MC21/28 SP models are a road compound magnesium designed to take the rigours of road use the ones fitted to the RS racebikes have a considerably higher mag content and are a whole lot lighter and I would presume not really designed to deal with potholes LOL

so the mc28 magtek is 1 kilo lighter than the nc30 wheel? or the standard mc28 wheel? so the magtek is about the same weight as the nc30 dymag?

guessing that if the mc28 magtek fits the standard mc28 wheel will also fit strait on, out of interest if you dont mind me asking how much was the rear?

No the MC28 Magtek is 1kg lighter that the standard MC28/NC35 rear wheel, I would imagine that as the NC30 is an 18" wheel it will be slightly heavier again.

It is exactly the same as the NC35 rear wheel so is a direct bolt on to the NC30.

I paid about £600 for both wheels including geting them powdercoated and new bearings in the front wheel, the front came from Thailand the rear from Japan. Its not unheard of to find them in the UK however you will have to look at paying around £350 for a rear if that is you can even find one.

I had an hrc 18" rear mag from an rs250, now that thing was seriously light!

Unfortunately I never weighed it, but at a guess it was under 3kg.

update im now doing physic's coursework compairing different internal combustion engines used in motorsport and if anyone is in doubt as to why rotary engines are so powerful for their read on

the effert required to stop 4 1/2 kg pistons (not the conrods aswell), in a 2 litre engine reving at 5k in a four stroke engine is aproximately 25hp, with the conrods aswell aprox weight 1kg each that figure goes up to about 75hp! thats al power that isnt lost in a rotary engine
