yeh nc23 wheels are a bitch to find, iv been looking for about a month and just got one (well hopefully, not finalised yet) best bet is to find someone breaking a bike and get the disks aswell, saves swapping them over when you swap to wets

Yes noskill thats right, I believe them to be essentially the same thing, different patterns granted, but told the compound is chemically similar and told they are made in the same factory.

I'll almost definately be going 17" it seems so should I go for 10mm, it's a pure track bike so guessing that should be fine?

I'll keep an eye out for a decently priced nc23 wheel then, even if I get a stock one beforehand :)

With the 17" rear btw, what tyre size to go for, iirc stock os 160/<something>? so 160/<something> again? and what should the something be (brain fails me here :p)

An RVF 17" wheel, is 4.5", so a 150/60/17 tyres is used. I have a 5"x17" wheel on my RVF so takes a 160/60/17

Cheers, Can't seem to find the rennsports in 150/60/17, but have found them for £129 for a pair of front and rears, which is a fair chunk cheaper than the super corsa's :D

are you sure the rennsports are similar rubber to the supercorsa's? I know the racetecs are.. but if this is true, i would of thought alot of people would be using them as they are 100 quid a set cheaper.

I've found a few references that seem to agree with it, this is the Corsa Diablo III's btw, not the Super Corsa Diablo Pro's (which are the £230-240 a set ones rather than £190 ish for the 3's), so it's 'only' a ~£60 saving I think for similar tyres, the super corsa's do seem a tad better (due to the different tread pattern I guess) but they're also a chunk more expensive, so like the suspension/power/brakes tuning until I'm good enough to utilise that difference I'll take that saving, especially as it seems racing will be eating through tyres at a rate of knots from what i've heard :p

Do you race a 400? If so, does a single race weekend completely finish the rear tyre? I've heard that it does but that's from people racing things like SV's which have a touch more power but a whole heap more torque, so I would've thought the relatively tame vfr would be better on the tyres?

I've been budgetting for a new rear each race weekend anyway but was just curious :)

yep, zxr
imo you can get by on 2 sets for your first season.
last year was my first year, i did most of it on scrubs.1 front and 2 rears. then treated myself to a brand new set when my time where coming down. I felt the difference and felt them lose that 10% about 4 races later.
but ive only just broke into the top 10's

better than buying them rennsports, i would ask one of the front runners(f400/steelies/minitwins/maybee gp250?) who change there tyres often, to buy there scrubs, 60 quid a set is about right
