Now let's really hijack this thread :)
Don't give up hope on the rule situation. As I see it we are now heading to one set of rules which is that there are no rules, if that's all the promotors will enforce then the riders will have to fall into line. The one exception is the MRRDA that will also maintain the current Formula 400 rules next to the Open Class so you can choose which to run in at one of their meetings.
Personally I don't think open class is right for 400's as a key differentiator of 400s is the lower entry and running costs and that should be maintained but this one's in the hands of the clubs. Agree with them or not, at least we'll end up with one set of rules again.
I suspect a lot of people will continue to run pretty close to Formula 400 rules even though they don't need to any more (myself included) as it's still about the fun
I'm happy to let it settle down for a year but the optimist in me if confident the class isn't going to go to shit, just a bit of a shake-up
