Now let's really hijack this thread :)

Don't give up hope on the rule situation. As I see it we are now heading to one set of rules which is that there are no rules, if that's all the promotors will enforce then the riders will have to fall into line. The one exception is the MRRDA that will also maintain the current Formula 400 rules next to the Open Class so you can choose which to run in at one of their meetings.

Personally I don't think open class is right for 400's as a key differentiator of 400s is the lower entry and running costs and that should be maintained but this one's in the hands of the clubs. Agree with them or not, at least we'll end up with one set of rules again.

I suspect a lot of people will continue to run pretty close to Formula 400 rules even though they don't need to any more (myself included) as it's still about the fun

I'm happy to let it settle down for a year but the optimist in me if confident the class isn't going to go to shit, just a bit of a shake-up

cheers

yeah i like the RB rules, thats what the class is all about minimal mods
but from what ive seen so far with the rules idea, even if u have so much as just a ram air box on a stock bike...your in the open class...and if youve seen the fzr down here with near on 80hp...dont bother even turning up
but,will wait and see
i'll race a completly stock(including pipe) bike (prob the nc29) if i have to,and keep the 23 in the lounge.
stimpy
p.s...maybe we should have an aussie/kiwi rant section...

Have a look at the rules, they're basically the RB rules with flatslides banned. My bike's still eligible

The Aussie rant does exist, it's the 'australian 400 racing mailing list', youcan subscribe at http://mail.thebiggame.com.au/mailman/l ... ame.com.au" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . There's about 30 or so 400 racers there and a good discussion going on now about the new rules. That's the forum where most of the development of the proposed 'new' rules was done that are now the RB stock(ish) rules

cheers, d
