Looks ok to me. If you compare it with the others you can see the numbers and letters are all done in the same style. The N doesn't meet at the bottom, the 0 has a gap at the top and the 6 is also identical. If this was stolen and restamped then they've done a bloody good job!!
(sorry but not checked mine yet, did my back in on Monday and not been in the garage)

Thanks for the feedback, it worried me this guy was certain it was all wrong, when the other gentleman posted his frame number I thought they looked the same - just wasn't sure if it was wishful thinking. Also, I met the guy that sold me the bike about 2 years after I bought it, and he offered to buy it back - he wouldn't do that if there was something wrong I wouldn't think?

What do you mean he cannot cancel his offer.
That's a load of shit.
He just would not pay you.
Under NO circumstances allow him to browbeat you down on price which is what it sounds like he is aiming for in the long run.

Thanks again to everyone who has helped me with this, I'm not selling to him under any circumstances. It's been nothing but stress and worry ever since Monday morning. Thankfully you guys have allayed my concerns, just need to find a genuine buyer who will like and use the bike!

FWIW, my '93 UK-spec RC36 does have the "asterix" on either side of the Frame Number (looks more like an X in a box to me), but my later '01 UK-spec RC46 does not have them on either side of the VIN. So, it may be that UK-spec bikes of that era (i.e., pre-VIN) do have the asterixes. Imports do not.

Anyway, good luck with the sale.

Ciao,

I see no problem with your frame. Sounds to me like the dealers is just looking for a reason to back out or beat you down on price.

Speak to dvla about correcting the vin number and relist it
