On second thoughts before I destruct the ignitor unit, I will check for a spark! Will get the tank off tomorrow and dig deeper..

Took the plugs out, cranked the engine over to clear any crap out - tested the plugs, cleaned them and put it all back together...

My bike has a similar issue, but someone told me that most Suzuki's have a key ignition issue. So try this, when turning the key, wiggle and jiggle the key, sometime the ignition is a bit broken.
