Yep, I've done it this way because I have a hydraulic clutch fitted & had to lose the standard cable drive for the Speedo. No problem with the MOT, but it's a bit of a drag not having the Speedo as an easy-read instrument. You soon get used to working from the tacho though, as long as you are not constantly changing the gearing or wheel sizes.
