I rung fowlers and had them check the frame numbers but both show up on their system as 1990 rr frame

Do you know if Fowlers can give you the number from the frame number?

the jap frame they cant as it never had a number its never been registered in the UK.

the other frame has a V5 so I could get the number for that, but the seller said that the frame was a rr.

Why not ... buy a decent standard 3tj rather than this.

Because I got my heart set on an RRSP and ideally a 3tj6/7

this one also has the added advantage of coming with a spare frame that I cant start a 4/6 project with to make into a bemsee thunderbike racer.

Except ... Its not a 3tj07 and frames are cheap.

Race / track bikes come up on the bay, I'd wait for one of those, something a bit more complete

you're right EC, I think half the problem is my NC30 is pretty much ready to go for the season with Bemsee, so I am bored and can see a good project out of this which will net 2 bikes, but really I cant afford it and this seasons race bills!!

i'll wake up tomorrow with a different thought I would imagine!!

Ive seen a lot of sp's which didn't have frame numbers as they've been built from 'unnumbered' yamaha race frames. Mine has a a frame number thats 5 or so digits long and a japanese character but has been road reg'd and v5'd. Fowlers always faff around when your trying to buy parts as 'its not on my computer'. joy.

the sp carb are often parted back in the day from the race bike as these were worth money to a racer but other than pure pose value (what you can't see) they don't in all honesty add much to a road bike. More importantly, the original flats are bloody expensive to refurb as the seals are all out of stock. The rubbers are also made of unobtainium.

having said all that I'm looking for another set of flats for mine, so if anyone knows of any.... (I let the last lot go with my 6 - but they did need a refurb...)

I've got an rr with sp suspension. Bdk ignition. 72 bhp Total loss and modded ecu. Even got a set of wow and bits of spares....frame came from a friend so I could get v5 easily enough. Just thought I'd mention it! :-)
Could the missing swinger be because of damage on track?
