I reckon it is running a 180kmh restricotr if it is straight from japan.

You need an M Max box or to get a 2.2k resistor and solder it inline on the speedo wiring feed - think it is orange and blue. (it is on the nc30 anways)

I'll bet you 20p thisis the culprit./

Does it just stop and feel like cylinders cut? Is your speedo in KMH? You could get one of the motrax speed converters too - that would never hjt 180mph and so the restriction would not kick in.

Typo? I didn't think the RVF was ever sold in the UK?

The bike probably has its internal speed limiter still enabled then as they were restricted to 180kph (112mph) from new.

cmsmji your on to something , ill whip out the speedo and take some pictures of the restrictor, i just bent back the L shaped piece that physically stops the the speedo from passing 180kph. but there was an orange and blue wire going to it also. gimme a while and il be back with pictures .

:) Thats the job there, thats where i went wrong ,I should have removed the circut board altogether.Instead I just bent the end of it straight down so the speedo wouldnt contact it.
Ill give it a try an see what happens
thanks everyone and much appreciated.

There was never a UK spec RVF, they are all Japanese domestic market imports.

well, got the bike sorted anyway and what a difference, engine feels far more responsive and everything, everything was going great until the law came on the scene :o . oh no i tought here we go. After me test run I came through town and was heading back to me house, next thing the blue lights were behind me. I pulled er over ,cop got out .turned out he was stopped behind a car at a side road just as I passed full of the pipe, he reckoned I was doin about 120mph but had only witnessed it and hadnt got the speed recorded on the gun.not so bad i thought , I actually felt like tellin him he was right caus im after derestricting it ''properly''. He gimme a caution and away I went.gona get it dyno'd now see what its putting out.
Thanks again everyone and ill get a few pics up soon :)

as for your fan problem peavey, the radiator earth might not be too good so even if the switch was working fine the fan will not come on.so you might have to remove the rad and give it a good clean where the radiator is earthed.
i have a thermo switch that i know works, its from a nc30 bottom rad but i believe them to be the same.

the thermo switch new is £30+ at least

i'll send you mine for £10 posted
