If the EXUP servo motor is not connected to the loom then the CDI registers a fault and cuts ignition. I run Swona tapered headers on mine with no Exup valve. Until I fit the BDK CDI unit, I have to leave the Exup motor in and connected to the loom. I have the M-max box but that just gets rid of the speedo limiter.

That's quite a clean bike EMC. Stick all the spares in the loft!

Hey guys,

Thanks again for the replies. Had the bike Dyno'd again yesterday after electrically re-connecting the Exup servo motor (EXUP wirelocked open) and we can now rev to around 12,500rpm before the limitier kicked in. This leads me to think the bike is restricted....so how do we rectify this? Does is require a new or modified CDI or is there some other mod that can be done?

The bike made 56bhp in standard trim so pretty happy, fuelling was very fluffy below 6k. Next mission is to re-jet (is there a dyno jet kit already out there for these?) and balance but I'm happy enough with the state of the motor to take it to Cadwell for a trackday wobble around on Monday. I'll get mullered on the straights but I guess I'll just have to learn to corner faster!

It won't rev out because the wires in the back of the speedo are disconnected. The standard 3tj cdi restricts if there is no zero signal when the bike starts up and still won't rev out if the zero signal says on..

For Cadwell - reconnect the speedo and speedo cable (even if you tape over it). And reconnect the exup - that should make the carburation better low down. You're only getting used to the bike and its handling and you can take everything off again as and when it get tuned.
