Re: Thought it was fueling- turns out its electrical

Bike is stock save for a Scorpion can. I don't know if the previous owner changed the jetting to suit, or if that would really be critically necessary. Honda filter, normal Shell unleaded (not Optimax/V-Power/V-Power Nitro). Most of my miles are commuting style rather that out for a blast, so generally I shift before 10K and rarely use full throttle. When I do rag it, it uses more fuel, obviously, but I think the worst I've ever managed is about 170 and that was a whole tank's worth of fairly hard riding by my standards. It'll happily amble along motorways at getting on for a ton with the throttle only really slightly cracked open.
If you're only getting 150/160, I would suggest that you've either a highly modified bike, it's running way too rich, or you're running wide open to the red line every shift. Or, maybe your fuel tank isn't mounted quite right and it's affecting the fuel flow. I did go through a spell of running onto reserve quite early, and it turned out the tank was on a little wonky after I'd done some work on the bike. This can affect how much fuel you can put in the tank, and when it starts to run to reserve. Also, I'm one of those people who fills up while sat on the bike, and I start filling slowly when the fuel gets near the top, as I hypothesise this lets more trapped air out of the tank. In addition, when it does get to the top, I wait for it to blow some bubbles out, squirt some more in, wait for it to drop, and repeat several times. Can make a difference, although I would advise against doing this for too long because you will eventually find out what level the breather is set at, especially when you put the bike on it's stand and go and pay... lol
