... and after reading some other posts on this forum I am a little confused. With the flywheel off with with genny still on is the bike total loss or not? (yes, electrically inept ... you know ... sort of like people that cant see yellow. My brain has a dead spot when it comes to electricity - infinite resistance - pun intended).

without the heavy magnets in the flyhweel spinning around the generator then there are no currents being made.

No rotational mass
no electrical drag.
