I know that duc's have a larger diameter for the rear pipe to compenstate for the shorter length of the pipe (to make sure both pipes get rid of the exhaust gases just a quickly)

The fuel system chapter is a must read for anyone contemplating ramair or open carbs on their NC. Very useful!

Yeah its a good book, highly recomended, I've got both the 4 and 2 stroke books.

Yeah I have them and the chassis book. Not very recent publications but most of the theory is still extremely applicable to these bikes. As above, the 4-stroke carb section will sort it all out in black and white for all fuelling issues.

Also goes into more than the basics of exhaust design.

A great source of info for all bookworms.
