EDIT: It's 4.4 kg according to my bathroom scales and my maths working out the difference (wouldn't measure the wheel on it's own).

Ok so thats .7 KG less.Now looking at both wheels i would say most of that weight is in the centre,
And as there is no shaft in a modified hub i think it pretty much evens thing up.

My initial (bathroom scale) weigh-in comparison was with tyres on and they were not the same brand of tyre, but I 'assumed' the tyres would probably be about the same weight. Looks like it may be a wrong assumption. 0.7 kg is a lot less than I thought and not too bad.
I've got both wheels here (with tyres on) but do not have the facilities to get tyres off for a real A/B comparison. Anybody know the exact figures for each?

Standard RVF rims had been weight before, approx. 4.2 kgs each, data can be found in this thread:
