Rad hoses - Samco or Alternative

I don't see what is wrong with Honda ones... Samco = chavvy IMO.. label slags!

Nothing 'wrong' with Honda hoses, I suspect mine's on the original ones and while they're looking a little tired, they're still perfectly servicable. But let's hypothesise that the hoses and clips on your bike are minging, or you've picked up a wreck that's got perished ones and want to replace the whole lot. Apart from GPI, you basically have a choice of OE, Samco or Roose. The Samco kit has all six hoses, the Roose one has five. I *think* it's the stat to engine hose that isn't included. but it's not entirely obvious. Anyway, let's hit on DSS for the Honda stuff:

Pump to engine 19525-ML0-720 £23.06 (3 weeks)

Samco stuff on eBay:

Hose kit £97.50 plus £8.50 post from Gav at Jap4 (blue normally on shelf, colours to order at approx 4 weeks)
Full stainless clip kit £23.22 plus £4.99 post from Demon Tweeks

Works out at £134.21, but unlike the Honda stuff it's waiting to be delivered. Also, Gavin has listed the hose clips before and there's no reason to suggest he can't supply them, plus don't site supporters get a discount too?

Roose sell their 5 hose kit on eBay at £76 plus £6 post (£8 extra for oddball colours). You will then need the thermostat to engine hose, plus hose clips.

A seller called njd128 offers an equivalent of the Samco clips for £17.51 posted, with the proviso that the while the bands are stainless with rolled edges, the screw is mild steel. I guess that's the same as most hose clips as I always find the screw goes minging quite fast but the rest is fine.

So, basically, the Samco hoses are more expensive than the Honda ones, but even their expensive looking fancy clip kit is half the price of the OE clips....

Ultimately, it's all down to your own taste, and you own wallet.
