I will be there around 11Am Dave, the pipes are in the back of my car...

This turned up today, I only paid for it yesterday!

Its off an FZR, the bike I am copying has a full micron exhaust on it but since they are no longer making them and are non existent used I will have to put up with re-riveting the micron badge on the other side of the can, and using my standard pipes for now.

Picking up my vfr spindle, shock linkage and wheel with tyre tomorrow, so I can start to re-build the back end.

Went down to Pontypridd today to fit the Rick Oliver 17" set-up on Chuckles' bike, and swap my green hoses for original black ones. came back with a nice repsol 18" wheel and NC30 spindle and NC30 shock linkage.

I've also just ordered a HRC overflow bottle, new brake fluid reservoirs and a front fender.

Starting to get on with it now, it will be a week since I bought the bike tomorrow, its taking too long :-D

So today I fitted my disc to the NC30 spindle and put the spindle and wheel on the bike. then I cleaned up some more of the frame, fitted the awkward water hoses to the loose engine, then lifted it into the frame. Image
Image
I then bolted it all up fitted the loom and then fitted the carbs and air box, removing the plastic 'lip' that is directly under the air intake on the air box when fitted, I thought this would allow a better flow of air from the front of the bike.
Image
I then fitted the Exhaust and moved the micron badge to the correct side of the can, and trial fitted it to the subframe.
Image

Today I have ordered a set of billet footpegs, rather than rearsets as I cant find any that look more like the race bike ones than standard footpeg hangers.

Tomorrow I'm off to my old work to take the rear tyre off, then I'm dropping both wheels and the rear subframe off for blasting and powder coating.

Put the rubber intake flap back, your bike will hate you for removing this.

Will it not act as a 'ram air'? please could you explain why it is a bad thing?
tom.

It isnt the rubber flap i have removed, its the plastic lip off the bottom of the air box.

Like he said...put it back. Taking that out is going to royally fuck up your A/F mixture and you will pull all your hair out trying to sort it.
