I may be 20 but I love the old bikes, just look better and seem to have more about them than the new stuff that's being sold at the moment. (apart from the CB1100, I want one of those!)

I always felt the NC ran rich, tho it was stock. Even with an Art can i felt it was rich and all my bikes with the exception of the KR1-s do about 44mpg. But I'd expect more out the NC. When it went on the rollers I'd removed the filter about a week before and felt it ran better. On Kev's dyno it made 59bhp I think, with nice fueling, and it felt better on the road, still with Art can

last time i rode it was to Jo's Grey Bike Rally and I got about 8mpg more out of it over 3 tanks. So I'm convinced it was the dirty stock filter.
Since I fitted the K&N about 3-4 months ago all i've done is start it in the garage to be sure it started. I'll post some pics up. But agree with Dave, I ride what takes my fancy. The old Superlight is a noisy beast, and raw. The 851 is too, but it's more refined. The YB doesn't see a lot of use, it's never seen rain. The KR1-s hasn't run properly for long enough to be an active proposition!

No, 1960 350 Viper with Clubman piston, rear sets and Amal TT carb.

love the old brits the velo is very nice never liked the drive side covers though. whats the matchless cafe racer well it has a matchy tank but looks like a norton domi or atlas engine? and the ajs's they look like model 18 and a g9??

If it was my NC and i didnt want to keep it stock then, id start with the suspension mods, fork internals and a decent aftermarket shock. As for twin stacks the Yamamoto spec A is a lovely looking system, or you have got the moriwaki, mercury, tyga, ganador/JHA, MHP cant remember any other ones off the top of my head but they are all going to be a nightmare to get hold of bar the tyga one, well worth it just for the rarity of them. Setup the carbs to match and together with the suspension mods it will improve the bike no end!

Plenty of other little mods you can do to improve it but the trouble is deciding where to stop, im trying to keep the mods to mine quite subtle other than the exhaust but its tempting to go down the road of never ending upgrades and changes.

Whatever you decide to do keep us posted, its allways interesting to see what everybody else is doing with thier bikes.

Wasnt it worth it then Alex? I know id rather spend 4 grand on my 30 than waste it on drink or whatever else like most people do.
