Clutch has a simple switch, just like the front brake light switch.
Just make sure it's not corroded to hell and is working.

Could also just be the bulb, they have two very fragile wires which need a solid connection in the flexible rubber bulb holder (not a great design). Mine had intermittent bulb problems, a new one should sort it out if in doubt.

Okay il have a look at my clutch then,

Cammo, would i have to go into the back of that light cluster and have a look in there or is there a different way?

Ignition on, no light, ignition off. Ignition on, no light, ignition off. Ignition on, light on, turned engine on the kill switch, fine. (ignition off)

I dont understand, i wasnt changing ANYTHING inbetween turning the ignition on and off.

It's almost certainly your wiring then.

You need to check the clutch switch, neutral sensor, neutral light and all the associated wiring.

It's most likely a corroded wire/knackered bulb or switch :peace:

Ok I've checked the neutral switch, took it off, gave it a wipe made sure it was clean, popped it back on, turned the ignition on and off a few times, seemed ok. Found the clutch switch, (sorry!) will have a look into it tomorrow as it's started raining fairly heavily.

The bulb, I'm assuming is ok, I'll check the connecting wires tomorrow.

Hi guys,

for your information, i have the same problem on my race bike (honestly i don't care of neutral light but during cold days, i was investigating...).
the neutral sensor seems bad functioning (infinite resistance in various gears and 400kOhm in neutral).
I don't now if it's good as i'm very bad in electricity but the resistance seems to high to allow the neutral light shining. 0 would be the best and 1 to 10 ohm should be good...

Is anybody can mesure the resistance of a fonctuning sensor???

Thanks

Neutral switch resistance to chassis should be 1-2 ohms when gearbox in neutral and infinite resistance when in any gear.

The condition of the neutral indicator bulb and associated wiring has no effect on neutral circuit functionality ie dud bulb just means no visual indicator, so long as switch and wiring to the clutch diode is ok, the neutral switch circuit will function ok.

Thanks magg.

My switch is fucked, that's clear.
is there a gasket to change with the switch? i'll check the part list.
