What's the advantageand purpose to an oil catch tank ? Where does it vent from? If they are needed why don't the come from honda with one?
Excuse the questions if they sound daft but I have no idea .

On the 30/35 they come from the crank breather hose ontop of the rear rocker cover, when standard they go into the airbox and then via an overflow hose to air down by the sidestand. But as far as i know racing regulations mean you cant have any oil overflow hoses going straight out to air because it would get on the track, so it has to go into a catch tank instead.

Probably on the rare occasion that it stopped raining there. Stupid exposed location for a racetrack at the top of a hill where you get bombarded with wind and rain blowing up the forth.

Old topic, but this bike (and another spare (wet?) bike was build by/for Craig McLelland, he won the Scottish championship F400 in 2004/5 I believe. Then later in late 07/early '08 bought by krag17 for his son to race (brent nichol racing), after his season(s) it was then broken and sold in parts offered here. Really lovely looking racers!

Video of these wet & dry bikes are on his facebook page (dyno'd at Chris of dyno-pro): http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=1336888873012
