cant really "upgrade" the cooling of the bike, the best thing you can do is ripp off the rad and give it a good clean, the lower one is usually gunged up with muck off the roads
EDIT: you could spend big money ang get better stainless rads

you could also send your rad off to be recored like I did.. half the price of a replacement and very nice..

thes bikes get hot..if you have a fan make sure it works..

also, fit an oil cooler to it if you have real problems!

i cleaned my rad in water and soap for two days before fitting it with my oil cooler and i don't know if it's the weather, the rad cleaner ,no rad fan or the oil cooler but of late my bike hasn't reached more than 80* while riding,i get the temp up by sitting in a bus stop for 5 minutes and it rose to 90* but -2 miles down the road it was back to 70* odd

i'm out with the duct tape tonight lol

was thinking about the rads from Rick Oliver, tis a lot of monies though.. would really like to get some opinions from people whove fitted them before shelling out that kind of cash..

CMSMJ1 can i ask where you sent your rad off to have it recored?

what kind of temperartures should i be avoiding then?

ricks rads are the business, regardless of how much they cost,i don't have a set yet but if i was to stop messing around with bikes and oil coolers i'd get my ass in gear and order a set up

some strong arguments for these rads... i think i might see about getting a set while i have the disposable income.. cos with my wish list getting longer it wont last lol

well, ive never seen them, but from what i hear theyd be a good investment...
plus the fact that i ride through the middle of London... everyday... twice.. she doesnt really like the traffic...
its never been higher than abot 110 really, nowhere near the red, but will getting this hot twice a day everyday adversly affect the engine?
(again sorry for noob-ness)

if you want piece of mind drain the coolant and flush the system.
i would say that won't have any adverse on the bike. just take the roads you can filter on!!

If you can back-flush it, even better!
