Got the unit back from Steve (thunderace) yesterday, and fitted it today after work.

Very very good work, fully sealed unit, just plug and play essentially.

Piece of piss to change light units for me, fibreglass all in one tail unit you see





LED's are very bright, much better than the standard bulbs and look wayyyyyy cooler IMO





Pictures really don't do it justice, might get some better ones in the daytime.

So how are the LEDs laid out for the tail / brake lights? From the pics it looks a bit like a checkerboard pattern for the normal tail lights and (I am assuming) that then the full grid lights up for the brake light?

The LED's are laid out so the outer edge of the square is the running light, then the brake light fills the square when on, very trick me thinks

I want my bike to look stock apart from the exhaust, if you look at it from a distance.
Other than from a distance I want to have the stock looking ses rearsets and digital speedo built into the original housing.
Plus a few engine and suspension mods of course

Already got shiny rads and tarty hoses, plus angel eye headlights and now the LED rear light.

But alas I shall have to wait for more trick bits now, my laptop died on me and I've had to shell out for a new one. Plus Christmas and winter servicing and cleaning are going to skint me

I've been doing LED concept work for a few years now. I designed and prototyped rear clusters on the Noble M600 and Lotus Exige, also the Triumph Sprint and Daytona 675.

Looks real good, can I ask if the stop tail LEDs shine red or white? Only as as I've got rid of the standard red lens and siliconed in the tail light aperture of the seat a set of 748 Ducati clear lenses!!!

Could I send you the stop tail unit minus the red lens and you mod it with the LEDs if they ligh up red?

I can do the conversion for clear lenses too but I need the complete unit. It needs to be sealed back together so it's watertight

Ok.... This wouldn't be watertight as the lens is attached to the seat unit and the white rear part of the stop tail part that holds the bulbs is just pushed against it when it's fitted with a home made bracket?

Could I not send you it and just run with it, I wouldn't expect any warranty or anything silly like that

Ah, that's a bit awkward as I use the lense as a fixing point for the board. No doubt I could come up with something though

Edit: I just realised there's a second page! how obvious can a newbie get. haha

I had to modify the bulb holders so one could take a blanking plug and the other a grommet for the sub loom.

You're welcome to send yours but remember I'll need the sub loom with the plug

Cost, parts plus £20 will do as you're 400GB

So, if we have no idea what a "blanking plug" or the "sub loom with the plug" are, is that bad?
and does that price apply to all on 400GB or was that a promotional thing?

This first image is slightly confusing me... it looks like it's every alternate LED that's lit up? almost like a chessboard-kind of pattern. but I can see that it's when it's not connected and in use.

are they easy to remove the stock ones and fit the LED ones for a mechanical idiot like myself? haha
