Re: Gold wheels
Sandro Cortese is riding in Moto2 this year and is running beautifully gold wheels. Very HRC in colour.

Re: Gold wheels
Looks very nice gold. Yesterday i watched the Qualification MotoGP and noticed that Stefan Bradl on satelite-bike LCR-Honda RC213V has some nice gold wheels on them...

Definately going to match a spare set of wheels in gold, the other set will be finished in white powdercoat.

I had them off rick oliver they are ok for the money but ive heard rumours of them warping very easily i had an advisory on my last mot sugesting that they were pulsing. I have since changed to the gold calipers as you can see and a fireblade master cylinder and i havent been able to properly test them out.

Re: Gold wheels
Well, I went to visit the powdercoater earlier. He advised me not to do in ral1036 nor in ral1567 due to the not very nice gold in reality/outside daylight. He adviced me another gold colour. I have no real match with any hrc gold sample. The thing is...he has also gone up in his price instead of what we discussed earlier. I have my doubts at 75 eur per wheel ex vat! Not in any hurry.

Re: Gold wheels
Hi guys,
Sorry to bring up an old thread. My powder coater says RAL 1567 is not a code used by him or recognised by his suppliers. Does anyone know any other RAL or BS colours to try?
Thanks,
Wozza

Re: Gold wheels
The Original HRC Mags are actually painted. I was fortunate enough to have a RC30 mag to color match and they are spot on I just wish I could find the larger HRC stickers.
I can dig up a paint code if you're interested?

Re: Gold wheels
^^^^ Correct, YR502P is as good as HRC gold and theres also one thats a slightly lighter shade, cant remember the code but its been discussed on the site somewhere.
A powder coaters local to me does a powder that is the closest ive seen(see zippy's and timon's bikes) and i keep meaning to ask for the code when im there but have so far forgot. Only trouble with it is according to the sprayer its a complete bitch to apply and ive had to return 2 sets to be redone which wasn't a problem but when you put a wheel up against a white wheel for example that he's done you can clearly see the difference in quality.

Re: Gold wheels
I want to use tpcs to do my hrc rear as i am happy he will do the correct process / chromate prep but he doesnt do hrc gold but can do dymag gold
http://tpcs-magnesium-refurbs.co.uk/bik ... allery.php
Looking at it against the hrc colour i am not sure i will be happy with it.
I do like a flat, non metallic gold like the nc23 gold wheels. Any advice? Other powder coater/painter recommended?

Re: Gold wheels
Steve at tpcs is about as good as it gets, all the mags ive had go to him, why dont you get him to do it and then have it wet painted in the proper shade of gold, you can paint over powder no problem.
