from what i could see in http://www.pitstopmotorcycles.co.uk the fzs has 40mm od with the 17mm inner, there are loads of bikes listed, so a trawl through them might get you what you want??? i clicked on a few buy most i found were 40mm with 17 of 42mm with 15mm inner!

dunno if this helps much!

While I'm watching various TCAT front wheels (and figuring out how to get the cash), I've ordered some more bearings, I've found some that are 42 od, 17 id and 14mm wide.

Only 1mm too wide. - I think I can sort this out buy either machining the lip back 1mm on each side of the wheel inner hub, or by doing away with the dust seal or something similar (as carbon wheels like BST's and Dymags etc don't run dust seals). - It's only 2mm - how hard can it be to make it fit.

Will repost in a day or two when they arrive.

I've just fitted the above bearings that were only 1mm too wide (I figured I could sort this out somehow). Problem is (after fitting them) I thought I'd just double check the ID as it looked a little small. - This is when I found that I'd been sent the wrong size bearings. I'd ordered ones with 17mm ID and got ones with 15mm ID (same as the stardard 1WG bearings). To top it off, I then found a flat spot on the front wheel. - So now, I'm going to send a 'Dear Knob' letter to the bearing supplier and make a big clock out of my knackered wheel!!!

Seeing as I've not got to get another wheel anyway, I'm going to bite the bullet and invest in a proper T/CAT wheel. Thanks for the suggestion on other models though Evil, I'll look into that anyway just for reference.

Nice one Evil, thanks very much. - Do you know if this wheel takes a 17mm Axel as standard, i.e. would it pretty much just drop in on my TCAT forks and R1 Calipers? If so, please could you let me know how much and the best way to send you the quids.

I think it does use a thicker spindle ... but as I remember it it won't fit a 3TJ as the hub is to wide. That pushes the brake discs to far out.
When I picked the TJ up I didn't really notice that the discs had been turned inside out and spaced on washers, the calipers too were spaced .... I can't remember but I think Ihave a spare spindle with it - I'll have a rumage in the garage.

Many thanks Evil, sounds like it's going to be less hassle if I get the T/CAT wheels once quids allow. Appreciate the offer though.

opps, I've solved the problem.

To do this...

I drank several pints of Special Brew until I passed out and in the morning I discovered I purchased the following, by special arrangement:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... TQ:GB:1123

- Plus speedo

A near divorce later (seriously, it didn't go down well as I'd already mentioned it to the wife and got the 'don't go there' look) and the bits are on the way. Hopefully I'll get chance to fit it all up at the weekend.

Question is, should I now take the plunge and ditch the 3en1 braced arm, fit a 3tj arm and wheel, then do the 07 R6 shock conversion.... tempting as it is, I may have to work on my marriage a little first.

Till the next drinking session then!
