I thought HID only worked properly with projector style lights.
I'm sure I read somewhere that the beam pattern was all wrong with standard reflector style lamps.
I'm not actually unhappy with the light output, just the cost of the bulbs and I imagine the HID upgrade would still be the typical H4 fitment.

If you go for a 55/60 watts you'll need to have relays so you don't fry the wiring. I was thinking of try an H4 conversion but I don't really ride in the dark ... inLondon the streets lights are the largest source of light

yep, you'd definately want relays for the 55/60w bulbs.
I'd be quite happy with the standard wattage.
It's all about the excessive cost and limited availability of the standard bulb compared to the H4 which you can buy in almost every corner shop!

not sure how they doit but acumen do a hid upgrade kit, i have known people that have just bodged there bulb mounts i.e cutting bits out to fit different bulbs but there has to be a better way of getting around this problem. ill have a look through all our stuff at work and see how much i can get bulbs for, what is the standard fitment???????

standard fitment appears to be totally unique which is why tey're such a PITA
