There is a scrape out of mine where the left footrest was bent back into it :(
Mine's got one of those too. In this case, it seems to be where someone fitted an aftermarket rearset and didn't realise the thing was too close. If you want another NC30 swinger, look on eBay, there's usually several up for grabs. I spotted a cheap one for my 35 yesterday, but some muppet has powdercoated it - over the surfaces the rear hub pinches on!!!
Bummer!
I was just seeing if i had any more options as im looking for a good one.
I also know of one i can get cheap nearby but its a 24 so if they are the same...

I've just had a look at a parts diagram for the NC24. They're only very vaguely similar in shape, and the frame mounting end is utterly different. Quite honestly if you could somehow modify it to fit, you'd spend so much time and effort just fitting it, never mind working out all the differences in alignment and probably wheelbase, etc that for the sake of wanting one without a scratch you'd be far better off waiting for the right one to appear on eBay... It's probably the equivalent of wanting to fit Austin Rover suspension parts on a BMW Mini anyway!

Just searching NC30 swingarm on eBay brings over half a dozen matches, ranging from £30 to £195, one of the more expensive of those looks to be in extremely good nick considering the age. The daftly powdercoated one I spotted for mine has gone, however there's another that's been painted black up for grabs. Why black? ugh!

I have a nice black swinger....vicar!!!

It is a design flaw that lets the rearset scrape the swinger. get a carbon cover?

I got different rearsets... lol I could understand having a black swinger if the frame was too, but to me it would seem a bit odd having a silver frame with it. I guess with the 30 having some black engine cases it might make a bit of a difference. Someone bought the powdered swinger (for £40 it was probably still a bargain) and will no doubt find out if the layer of blackness affects the fit of the hub/adjuster... lol

Whilst on the subject, do the nc24 swing arms fit on the nc21's?? And do the nc24/30 rear subframe fit the nc21's?? Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure the nc24 swing arm bolts straight on. The nc24 subframe will probably bolt straight on but the tail fairing mounts could be different?

The NC24 swingarm will not fit the NC30. I don't have the details at hand to see if it will phsyically bolt on but the NC30 rear shock is offset to one side to allow the exhausts to come out, the NC24 shock is in the middle as the rear pipes run under the engine. This means the hole for the shock is in a different place.

Also the NC24 has a longer wheelbase, the rear hub and brake a different and combined with the most important thing the shock hole, you cant use it.

There all different. (NC24 / NC30 / NC35)

With regards to the NC21 / NC24 (Second poster)

The NC21 / NC24 share the same frame.

You can put the NC24 swingarm on the NC21 and vice-versa. I belive the subframe is the same on both bikes, only the rear seat and plastics are different.. you can swap these between bikes without changing the subframe as I ran NC21 rear plastics on my bike as I like the double comfy seat, it bolts straight onto the NC24 subframe so I belive they are the same, maybe minor differences but no need to swap.

With regards to swapping over. youll need the rear wheel / disc / caliper / brake line and mountint bolts for everything.

You can fit the NC24 exhaust to the NC21 and vice versa too but you must use the appropriate rear footpegs, NC21 rear footpegs are different to allow the exhaust can to bolt to them.

All easy to do though.

No real gains though apart from the look, tyre size is the same and the swinging arm is probably much heavier..

Brilliant info. It is just for looks more than anything as I'm planning to turn it into a track slag once I get a better bike. Also is there anywhere that do race fairings for the nc21/24? I can find loads for the nc30 but they won't fit will they? I don't want to start welding on and chopping off brackets.

Nope. However, I do know of someone who fitted CBR600F race bodywork to an NC21 so the fit will be the same on the 24. IIRC, he had to shorten the side panels before fitting the bellypan though to keep ground clearance. When I see him I'll ask exactly what he used and where from :peace:
