That's a great offer mate. But I don't think the bike will get to Boston. I have just tried it again. Did a mile before I just opened it up a little and it went again. Only just made it back home. I suppose I'll just have to buy a CDI unit in the hope it will be that.
Thanks again and maybe see you on the road.
:peace:

Why does it sound like the reg/rectifier? What are the symptoms of that problem?

theres quite a few symtoms i think, but the ones i had were : it would run ok ,every now again above 6k it would have a lack of power and run rougth until it would completly die , then it would not start at all for about 15 mins , it was just killing the battery, once it started again it would be ok for about an hour but got more frequent, it is a common problem on these nc30's ,it could be something completly different, ive had two go wrong,

But my battery seems very strong. In fact it's turning over lovely right now but the damn thing won't start at all now. Plenty of juice in the battery.

Are you saying a new reg'rectifier fixed your similar running problems? I am at a loss as to what is wrong with my bike.

Thanks
Andy

I got one you can borrow but I think you to atleast check the reg is giving the right volts and the battery isn't goosed first. Don't think I've ever heard of a cdi going.

Yeah if your battery is ok prob ain't the reg/ reg, how about coils or gummed up carbs?
