Depending on what type of filter it is (paper, mesh etc) it could cause running problems. The fuel is only gravity fed, the carbs can demand more fuel than what might be able to flow through a filter.

There are filters inside the fuel tank and 1 in each carb.

This is good info, I was about to fit an inline filter myself on my Nc35... I wont bother now.

I got some new carb rubbers off Rick O yesterday, and he recommended using red grease to lubricate them.
