I am going to have a 1.5 gallon cell fabricated in the same shape as the rear of the tank now and then either a fiberglass or carbon shall to make it look like a stock tank.

@ fastdruid, yes I know its on the list, but its doubtfull where the info is from, since no one seem to have a 2000gr øhlins shock, and Kays new øhlins shock was a heavy bugger. The Nitron on the other hand is as close to "over the counter" as you get and the weight figure is verified.

Much of the weight is in the spring, the good (highly dense) springsteel used in aftermarked shocks is far heavier than the cheaper ones on standard shocks.
Spring type also affects weight, my hyperpro shock went from 3600gr to 3420gr when I had the progressive spring swapped for a linear one, because fewer windings is needed on a linear spring. This was just an added bonus, the change was due to me not liking the progressive springs feel.

@ Venom51, the fuel cell sounds interesting, please give updates when you make any progress.

I know my ohlins (for the SV) is a lot lighter than the GSXR750 item it replaced (which in turn was lighter than the original). I'm not getting it out just to weigh it though! :D

From the list: Nitron Sport-300gr= Rear shock absorber Ohlins 2000
I will never go for an öhlins, anyway

Should have read the second page lol ...

The Nitron Sport shock is light because it`s the base model without a remote reservoir - the Nitron Track shock would be a more direct comparison with the Ohlins.

(Sorry, no I can`t tell you what it weighs...!)
