Thanks guys, just goes to show that searching the forum is time well spent...I got my NC30 recently and I've been looking for one of these, I had one on my FZR400RR 3TJ (probably different model) and it worked a treat. If your bike is restricted it gets round it (speed type) because 180KPH becomes 180MPH! Unless your '400' is seriously tuned its not a problem!
Motrax used to sell them through 'Demon Tweeks' but they're not listed anymore, I'll be buying one pronto from page listed....thanks for posting it.

Hi guys,

I have purchased a speedo converter (top blue type) for
a NC30.

I used to have the 'bottom type' one for a FZR400RR I once owned and it was
real easy to fit at the bottom of the front wheel. However, I've tried
without any real success to fit the 'top type' to my NC30.  The problem I
have is with the converter fitted to the speedo the speedo cable is 'too
long' and there isn't anywhere to 'put' the excess cable. Also it's
difficult to locate the cable in the converter because if I do it looks
like it'll interfere with the fork stanchions....I did managed to fit it
once by connecting the converter to the cable and then to the speedo but on
a test drive it wouldn't work the speedo at all, so I removed it and
everything worked fine again!

Am I missing something obvious and just being a bit stupid?

Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

All i did was unscrew my speedo cable from the clocks , plug the convertor into the clocks them screwed the cable into the adapter took 1.38 seconds easy as pie to fit but it makes the cable about an inch longer i didnt reroute the cable etc all i did was pushed it in and it aint kinked or anything works fine

:)

Thanks matey, perhaps mine has an aftermarket speedi cable that's a touch long to begin with...I was expecting the process you described for fitting, I'll try again soon and see what I can find out.
Thanks again!

Hi Nazzurro_19, thanks for the offer. I'll have a try tomorrow and post some photos. The main 'problem' I have right now is wanting to ride it too much rather than tinker...I'm loving the bike!
