it's only a 400
roll-on's from 70/80 in 6th aint exactly gonna make the earth move

(i'm still in 3rd then)
these things are designed to have there neck's rung which is why the power starts at about 10k but really gets going at about 12.5k and naff all below, hence the exup
bloody good fun though

I think somehow I have to stop worrying about my bike cos believe it or not I worry about it blowing up with its age and then I'll have nothing, the one time I did red line it in 3rd I was over 85mph I thought that it was pretty good! I been offered a dyno run for £30 but again the bloke said if it went bang it's my loss!
I'm most worried about the valves but have been for last 5000 miles!! Now it's cold it is harder to start but has been "difficult" since I first got it running. Full choke, tiny bit of throttle pres button and will usually catch first or second time. It'll runn about 1200 rpm but I leave it a few seconds then rev it a bit and fast idle is there all of a sudden at 3000 rpm and throttle is as sharp as could be ! It has never liked running slowly on a tiny bit of throttle but I have always rode round this. The performance is the same as 5000 miles ago and once past 7.5 k really takes off up to 3 digits.
When it is warmer I will check the valves but has anyone done it in the bike as I would like to know what to remove and how to do it!
I guess having a 1wg engine with 3tj carbs and no exup with a straight through exhaust might have something to do with it?
As should be happy as I am so will try to look on the bright side!
Cheers
Mark
