Thanks EC if fiddling doesn't fix it that's what I will have to do! Is 130 a safe range? I'm so used to putting a rennet in or what ever I got in my pocket which is never very much lol
Mark. ('it goes no different with dr cdi I thought it did but yesterday was back as it was)
Cheers

when my sender was US i reckoned on about 180Km (112m) just guess work
once i'd fixed it i was getting about 220Km (135m ish) from a full tank to reserve
so i'd go for about 120 miles or just under
best to ride the last few miles to the garage and not have to push it ;)

Cheers mr dog!! I put my old cdi back on this afternoon and guess what? My reserve is working again!! Having your cdi doctored seems to take your reserve facility out and just gives.you a full tank! You do loose a lot of wires when it's doctored!

The reserve "indication" must use the same circuit as the restriction then.

If you use a 1WG cdi you could look for the Genesis or SP cdi's both of them are before the restriction and the Genesis doesn't have an EXUP
If it's a 3TJ then the 4DX

i suspect most peeps with a bendy3 cdi unit use em for racing where the amount of fuel is generally measure in per race to save weight so the fuel sensor system is excess baggage ;)
