The blue spots ideally need a 14mm master cylinder and the FZRs are all 5/8" (15.8mm) which will work, but it will feel 'wooden' with an on/off feeling. Any 14mm master cylinder will work, not just one from a Thunderace

blue spots wont fit the mounting points are bigger.... bugger two more problems today....

The throttle cable to close the throttle is too short cable is long enough but outer sleeve will not fit into holder on carb body, so is the 600 different?

I've removed the "dog dones" to clean to discover they have been welded....not very well either... they are 160mm from the centres so what are the std length so I can gauge..... heard the 135mm is std???

also been looking at quick action throttles some take two cables and other only one, so do the throttles that only take one have a spring return in the throttle grip/body itself???

Your calipers are 83mm I think (maybe 85mm) which mean the 3TJ ones should fit, they'll give you 4 pots at least.
I use a 19/20 ratio radial master on my 3TJ, it's a bit wooden in it's feel but it stops bloody hard

The 600 clocks is odd they should bolt in ... have a look at FZ600 clocks on ebay, they have the idot lights in a square 4 pattern up by the rev counter ... hopefully that would fit ???

on the quick action throttle, the spring that returns it on the single cable ones is the on on the carbs themselves. there is no spring in the throttle body. ive got a venhil universal one on my race bike that has never let me down. but for road riding i wouldnt want to use it as slow control isnt great. guess the idea isnt to go slow on a track!

thanks for that been undecided on the quick throttle... the bike will be used on the road as well as the track so will stick to the normal throttle..

I think the standard dogbones are 148mm, centre to centre, and I've probably got some in the shed if you need them.

Careful if you order the throttle cables as yamaha messed up the codes on a few microfiches. Took me loads of attempts and cash to get the one I was looking for!

I did have a few problems with the throttle cables as I had a spare from a 600 and that was different to the 400 so made a cable up using some 5mm solderless nipples..

Removed the carbs today for a clean and looked down on the 600 engine to see all the ports/chamber with rust around the valve area and a little on the valve steam, some had more than others..

Any thoughts on this it seems to be above the head gasket??, I have another 600 engine compare that one is lovely and clean no rust but on two cylinder has oil sitting on the valve??
