Re: Help im stuck :(
Damn this is really on my mind as it reminds me of when I had mine first!! I guess you need to try another set of carbs. I think a poster offered some? But as I said is it totally dead when starting off the button? Also are you taking out the cenet block in the float chamber that holds the two big jets and cleaned that?

Re: Help im stuck :(
yeh took the cenet block off i've cleaned everything haha gona check all the diaphram side tonight, yeh i fixed that it was an electrical fault i ended up changing the stator / rectifier & the coils, it wasnt sending a charge back to the battery and it would just cut out after 30 miles from a fully charged battery...nightmare
fuel does come out of the main jet from the bowls but only with the pin out
i cant see any faults with it anywhere or in how its set up
you think its playing on your mind :D all ive been doing is trying to find an exploded diargram of the mikuni bdst 32 cant find one anywhere

Re: Help im stuck :(
Getting a diagram in such detail will be hard, but if all the carbs are off just take the bowl off an end one and make sure the pin is in and the floats in place. Gently close the float and ingnition on, the fuel pump a start clicking let go the float. Fuel should start coming through and stop when you lift the float?
The carbs are very straight forward really and not firing on any cylinder is baffling to say the least!!! You could separate the carbs and clean but you really need new o rings when putting back together to stop leaks.
If you do the float test on all of them let us know the result!

Re: Help im stuck :(
carb diagram is on the home page under "document library"
http://www.400greybike.com/docs.htm
top one yam section
there's a couple of more detailed manuals in the fzr general section on the forum (you can read em fine but the pics are sh*t) the one in the link is probably the best diagram

Re: Help im stuck :(
Sorry for being quick but if you can do a compression test. As you can make the bike run pouring petrol straight in tends to indicate timing and sparks ok.. As long as you never turned the engine when you had the tensioners out that should be fine, and I am sure bad results would have happened back then. If I was you (still new to fzrs!!! so listen to the others!!!) I would go to halfords and buy some Bradex Easy Start (less than a fiver). This is very high octaine spray. Put your carbs back on, plugs and leads in just leave air filter off. Using ignition and kill switch prime the carbs until fuel pump stops clicking. Now spray easy start into air intakes a good shot in each. MAKE SURE YOUR FACE IS NOT OVER AIR INTAKES AS SOMETIMES IT CAN BLOW BACK. no choke!! Press starter. If nothing major is wrong your engine will start and run like crazy!! If this is ok then keep putting a spray in the intakes for 5 to 10 seconds. If the engine starts and revs away that should rule out anything major and there is a chance that the carbs will take over. ( sorry you need half throttle all the time!!)
I used to have a old bike that would only start with Bradex in the wire air filter!
What ever you do keep away from intakes with your face just in case.
Be interested how it goes!! Good luck!!

P..S. I have done this many many times to start bikes!!!

Re: Help im stuck :(
Compression test it. Get a tester, take the plugs out and turn the engine over (write down the result), then add some oil to the bores and repeat. If the first result is low and the second higher then it could be the rings. If the first and second is low then it could be the valves tollerances are to tight and not sealing.
Remember you only need 3 things to make an engine run, fuel, ingition and compression.
I don't thinkt the chain tensioner would be a problem and if the chain had jumped a tooth the vales would have touched the pistons and the whole thing would be toast. The static timing on the cams / tdc is the same as the 1WG and the cam wheels are fixed.
