Re: What engine is in my CBR ?????
Sorry guys for bringing up an old thread but i was browsing lol
But has anyone actually noticed there is no bolts in the front top mount???
Which would suggest its a cb1 engine not an nc23, unless you have removed them to do work on it?

I'd also be a bit concerned about that.petrolhead19 wrote:Sorry guys for bringing up an old thread but i was browsing lol

But it's not a CB-1 engine, they have a bolt a bit further back which that one doesn't.

The Aero has vestigial fins on the head. It's not a CB-1. The SF has back-draught carbs.
It's either Tri-arm or Gull-arm, with Tri-arm side cases on.
Any way it could have a fake engine number on it?

Re: What engine is in my CBR ?????
Doesnt look like a 29 engine to be honest as far as i know the 23 covers dont fit.
The 29 has 1 ignition pick up were as the 23 has 2, wip the pick up cover off and check.
Fiorst thing i would do though is get some bolts in the ones which are missing before it ends in tears lol
As you said could just be a 23 engine with dodgy numbers, does it look like they have been tampered with?

Can't really tell if the bottom end is 29 unlikely as although the 23 genny cover will fit the clutch cover doesnt but the head isn't the spigots that stick out on the 29 point down.
Some decent non blurry pictures would help.

Re: What engine is in my CBR ?????
Ah, gotcha. I accidentally tripped up and an nc29 arm fell into my CB-1. Wouldn't you know, same thing happened again a few years later to my 2nd -1. And '29 wheels and discs, '23 cams, 918 blade forks and 929 brakes, etc. These things happen.petrolhead19 wrote:Probably looking at the pic of the cb-1 lmao
