Put the battery on charge and checked the float bowls, nothing out the right back and dribbled out the left, will put a few fresh litres in the tank tomorrow. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Hmmm, no fuel getting to the carbs then.

Put the tank on reserve and put some fuel in it just to isolate that.

Try the 5 second crank / 2 minutes rest with full choke and no throttle again after that for 4 or 5 goes.

If it still doesn't catch check the carbs again for fuel... if there not filling up then you have a fuel problem.

Either the floats have got stuck due to being on itside.. try tapping the float bowls with the handle of a screwdriver, somethings this will save you having to dismantle them.

Another issue could be the fuel vaccum hose.. is it still connected and in one piece?

Just so I don't look like an idiot, I found out the petrol from Johannesburg (which is where I had the bike shipped from) is largely produced by Sasol who make petrol from coal hence the smell is very different.

Jump start it off a car. I reckOn that's not enough volts.

She sounds like a beast!!!! Thanks for the help and of all things just needed petrol . Still took a good 5 tries tho. There will be many problems to comes as its in bad shape so be prepared for lots of questions, for example the first thing is there is a hole in the exhaust, all the more reason to have a dual system made up .
