This is the way to do it with the carbs off the bike, I've never balanced them any other way (on 3 nc30's), it's much easier.MexicanGringo wrote:Say Superlite, whats the drill bit method??
Remove the carbs. Use a very small drill bit, or other tool (e.g. wire) to use to adjust the throttle butterflies to the same opening.
Using the idle adjustor, wind it until the drill bit (or other reference tool) just fits under the throttle butterfly in the first (reference) carb (see haynes for more info). From here you pretty much follow the order in the haynes manual, adjusting each other throttle butterfly to match the reference carb, using the drill bit to ensure all butterflies match.
Once you've done it the first time it's very easy. Not a true balance, but the results will be very similar for half the trouble.
