What do you want this bike to do in the end, is it just a bit of road riding or are you going to mod the whole thing and get as much as possible from it ???
The ThunderCat or FZR600R Foxeye front ends will fit and so does the YZF750, which is probably a better bet but it just depends how far you want to go ....

The 3TJ shock is 340mm too, so it'll be too long.
OK for info I just measured my rear ohlins on the R1, its out as the bike is in pieces it is exactly 300mm from hole to hole!
I guess may try an R1 shock with a softer spring? Kayla what you recon? Ever tried that? Does if fits?
No, I haven't tried that particular combination

Is the bottom fitting the right shape?

Thats a good question mate. Thing is all these front ends would fit but what about the orignal geometry of the bike? I dont want to ruin its geometry. So its a compromise, i want to take out as much in a reasonable extend. You can pick up whole YZF750s on ebay for 550-600 these days.

The best mod i've done to my forks is 2 litre pinto valve springs (they look made for doing this) ontop of the standard springs, chop 10mm off the spacer and 10w oil. Give them a good stripdown and clean out the bottom of the legs.
Makes soooo much differance, tho i had some in my car parts box.
Cheers
Ian
PS, i makes getting the fork tops back in good eerrr fun!
