Well they've been in production since March '08, so they won't hang around forever. 3.5 years is already relatively long in the tooth. It's a matter of luck really, but if you like them and if/when you hear about Bridgestone's hotsnot new supersports tyre and if it doesn't come in 18", then that will be the time to stock up.

Isnt there quite a few modern 160 18inch tyres made? Think i may try one if i ever wear the bridgestones out, id like to try michellins again, but i dont know wat differance going up a size would make? There never seems to be common opinion?
Cheers

actually I was after a 150/60 17 for my KR1 track bike. If I could squeeze in a 160, then I would have a much bigger tyre choice, hence the question about the Alpha 12's

There's a good range of sticky tyres in that size - pirelli supercorsas for one!

basically, heres the situation......
I have a KR1 hybrid that I use on trackdays. It has an Aprilia RS250 rear wheel (4.5" x 17") and and RGV250P swingarm. I'm not eligable to race this in the BMCRS F400 class as it has a different swingarm, however, I do have a standard KR1 swingarm fitted with an Aprilia RS125 rear wheel (17" x 4"). So I could put that in the track bike.
Unfortunately, the swingarm and the tyre rim width restricts the tyres I can use (150 section is the biggest I can use)
So, in order to determine what tyre choice I have, I thought I'd ask a question.
Seeing as though the old Alpha 10's and the new Alpha 12's were made specifically for bikes between 250cc and 400cc i.e supersport 400, I thought it would be a good idea to ask the question on a 400 forum - which I did. The reason why I am a member of the forum is because I am currently rebuilding an NC30 (which I have acquired a 5" VFR750 wheel for).
Anyway.......back to the question.....Does anyone know if Dunlop Alpha12's are sold in the UK?
....oh, and if anyone wants to know, I'm about a size 10 (if that's relevant)
