I'm sure you'll clean your discs and run some wet'n'dry over them and then emery the pads ... then try it. If it doesn't work then it back to the original suggestions

Heh heh yeah, that screen doesn't look quite so bad in real life... but I agree
I almost got her started last night - if I choke the airbox intake with my hand she'll cough a bit and try and start... but she just didn't catch fully. The battery was getting a little flat by that stage and she still has the old plugs (they're NGK CR9E, the manual says to use CR9E - which is what I bought as replacements). I'll try again tonight with a fresh charge and the new plugs.

Cheers Evil, I'll def give those discs a good clean (along with everything else...
) and see if that improves the braking.

NO worries. If they're warped, they're warped, but it would be nice to find out that you need some brake cleaner and a scouring pad rather than a new set of disks :)graeme wrote:Thanks Pleiades, that made for some interesting reading...

try whipping the airbox off, spraying some carb cleaner into the bell mouth and then shoving your hand down over them, or blocking the exhaust with a rag, worked for me at any rate!

Well... excuse the lack of updates, but I got her going about 2 or 3 weeks ago and have used her in to work (the main culprit for the lack of updates
) on and off... feels pretty good
I had to replace the fuel pump and now she starts up first thing
Front brakes are crap for slow maneuvering tho, they just pulse too badly... the rear brake does too, but not as bad... anyway, I'll get around to checking them out soon(ish).
Economy has been real bad too - around 10km/1L, I've just changed the pilot screws from 3 1/2 turns out to 2 1/2 so we'll see... seems to idle better.
Got to say I'm loving the handling, my tyres (Kenda) aren't as committed as the Bridgestones on my bro's VFR... but she really feels light and agile (and I'm coming from a 250 sport here
).
Major concern at the moment tho... I got her up to 160kph with relative ease the other evening, but the next morning noticed the knocking from the engine is more pronounced... I'll post in Workshop about that tho.
