or if you've loads of dosh you may be able to find some sp fully adjustable jobbies which will go strait in or check out some of the other front end conversions on the forum, personally for value for money, you cant beat maxton or a similar race suspension manufacturer if you want to keep it within a budget still not cheep cheep though mine were £120 delivered

I went the way of SP suspension, this was before the R6 conversion came along. I got the forks from a breaker for £100, but the stanchions were badly corroded and I knew I'd have to buy new ones. I also got a SP shock off the bay and sent the lot to Race Lab suspension (I used them before to set up my Bimota). They sorted the forks but couldn't rebuild the shock because the bumpstop is a specific size and they couldn't find a replacement, so I fitted an EMC shock.

iv'e not used them but some mates have, and they seem pretty good by all reports,

if your down this way they'll set up your suspension for about £90
not a bad price considering the service,
they tweek it,
you take it for a spin (some good roads round there)
take it back and they tweek it some more if necessary and so on till your a happy bunny

Yes that's what i did with the Bim. When I took it there the back end was awful, it would kick me through my back and jump over bumps ... then hook up causing a backfire.
Afterwards it was alot more supple absorbing the bumps. Braking was different too the bike was "flat" with both the back and front compressing ... which is nice.

Good suspension kit is great but it needs to work.

I would also recommended doing the R6 shock conversion. I have only just recently done and can feel the difference already! Much more feedback so i'm able to go faster in the corners cos i have more confidence in grip. Lucky i picked one off ebay with the adapter ready fitted as it came off an old race bike, dont have a clue about settings though. dont really wanna mess around with it too much.

Ran a 2006 branfire new r6 shock on my 3tj hybrid which worked fine but just changed spring for my weight.Recently replaced with a yzf750 ohlins which bolted straight on.
Both are perfect budget upgrades!!

Will soon be breaking the bike so gimme a whistle if your interesed in either

The YZF shock is the same length and should bolt in but be aware that unless it's an official Ohlins unit it will a Yamaha shock.
Yamaha bought out the Ohlins company and used it's technology on their bikes of the time - both the YZF750 and FZR400RR SP benefited the shocks are similar but they didn't get the full fat Ohlins kit.

The std yzf goes straight in without adapters.
I purchased the full race ohlins replacement not the std yamaha and a few pop up on the bay now and then
