People do it all the time and the bloody bike gets up to revs faster

All i worry about is someone doing this to there bike in an uneducated way not knowing all the information if you are considering removing metal from the flywheel then please look at the information on the link below and maybe make an educated decision:

I am not saying this just for the argument but i am a mechanical engineer and understand the dynamics of altering the characteristics of a small engine especially if you accidentally missed a gear or got a false gear and revved it and caused damage.
From the above web site on lightning the flywheel or as a racer just take the dang thing off (unless your run endurance) "This can often lead to horrendous stalling problems and explosive acceleration (especially when the riding surface is loose or slick). " Man on a 400 i would sacrifice stalling on occasions at stop light speeds to have some "EXPOLSIVE ACCELERATION" LOL
Another quote "QUESTION EIGHT: CAN A HEAVY FLYWHEEL MAKE A BIKE FASTER?
Yes. But only if the engine characteristics are too snappy, powerful or explosive for the rider's style or track's terrain. A bike with an engine that's too explosive will accelerate quicker with a heavier flywheel weight. "
This is probably true for a dirt bikes that is always spinning the rear tire but as for a street bike or race bike NO especially a 400. At least you can read through this and get the gist of it but dont take all to heart cause its based on dirt bike terrain.
This question was good "QUESTION 12: DOES IT HELP STARTS?
Yes and no. Heavier flywheel weights can make a big difference on a concrete starting pad (or hard slippery dirt). But, on short, fast, dirt starting lines (like in Supercross) a lighter flywheel helps the bike jump out of the gate quicker, which allows the rider to get his bars in front of the rider next to him."
If i said i didn't learn anything id be lying but hey your supposed to learn a new thing every day right. Racers Take it off... Buy two batteries and a charger and enjoy want to get real retarded and like to push your bike remove the starter and gear and plug the hole find some friend that like to run or make sure your carbs are in top notch..

The rev limiter would help this just dont down shift and let the clutch out till you get the revs down then it will go kaboom.
