yeah there is one in both forks. i think im gunna go with takin it out as ive trawled the internet and cant find any reference to this spacer. It would just put my mind at rest if someone who'd stripped RVF forks could confirm weather or not its meant to be there tho.
As for the other problem i still cant loosen or tightrn up the damper rod bolt.

The spacer is no worries - if you find the springs too soft the stick it back in.
ref the damper bolts..hmm..perserverence I reckon..they should come apart

So the spacer isnt there as standard then? ive removed it now and the fork went togther no probs, i'll see how i het on with it and go from there, thats if i sort this damper rod out, i cant work it out its just turning and turning no matter which way i go.
is there anyway of seperating the fork tube from the bottom of the fork (the bit that the caliper bolts to)? that way i might been able to see what the problem is

On the inside of the fork bottom is a hole with a very small Torx screw (T8?), remove that and then you can unscrew the fork tube from the fork bottom. I would put the fork bottom in a bench vise so it is stabilized and you can get some leverage. Don't know how easy it is but I may have to do this also as I will be re-building my forks sometime over the next week or two. I'll let you know if I find any "extra" spacers.

problem solved, to remove the damper rod you need to put something long and thin ( i used a a long metal ruler) inside the fork tube to hold the spring seat still while you turn the damper rod nut.

Question about the nc30 late type fork kit. The supplied spacers are additional to the standard ones or they are replacing them?

With Ricks NC30 upgrade kit you get springs and spacers. These are full replacements for the OEM items...
Ie take these out..
And replace with the ones as shown in the midle here..
