It siezes intermittently and locks up both the pedal and the caliper. We can release pressure by turning the bleeder a bit, but still don't know why it is happening. It can happen when riding, when standing still, even if we don't touch the brake. We thought there was a defect in the brake line, so that is replaced; also rebuilt the master cylinder and the caliper. So far our last ditch effort will be a whole new housing unless someone can work some magic and come up with other thoughts :)

Ah that one.

thats usually too much fluid in the rear resevoir.. when it get hots it expands and forces the brake on.. try it with less fluid in the rear-res.. only half full and see how you go.

Thats usually only while riding though.

Failling that i'd go with sticking caliper piston.

I'm with you on that Neo.
If you can get into a wreckers I'd have high hopes that you'd find something that you could make fit.
If was the front it would be different but rears tend to be fairly neglected items.
Try the fluid level and if that's not it and CMS has one spare you're sorted. Postage into the US is pretty cheap. Out of the US is another matter entirely.

I've definitely got one, maybe a couple... My house is being rewired so I have no power to my garages...and the part of my garage where I have a large box of spares is in the darkest corner...lol

I will PM my addy, will also try to get it out this weekend for a test ride to see if the reservoir thing worked.
