Not sure the 30 is a "better" bike than the 45
for me i would rather have a 45 as a road bike, better road manners and easier to live with, however the 30 started the ball game, and as such is seen as the "classic".
as a road bike that used, mine uses oil, gets hot, and can be expensive for parts.
as a road bike its faster up top than the 916, and is a joy to ride.

Well I think I stand corrected lol. Its amazin how much the older bikes go for, even a new say r1 or fireblade is cheaper than that its crazy. Dont get me wrong if I had the money yeah I would have one.....and a 45 lol

They are not just older bikes, they are rare special bikes with success in racing back in the day.
look at the vincent black shadow, whats one of those worth 40-50k ? or more i have a 1968 350 desmo which is worth more than any of my other bikes (apart from the RC of course)

a new R1 or fireblade is cheaper yes, there are many thousands of those made and they are and always will be a disposable superbike. the RC series is far from that. dont forget they were double the price of anything else when launched. they were 1198R money back in the day and certainly as special too.

Comparing a new R1 or blade is like trying to compare say a Audi quattro turbo with a Mitsubishi evo or 7
or a classic alfa spyder with one of the new ones. chalk and cheese my friend.

Theres a RC30 on Autotrader for 13995 looks just as good as the one on Ebay.

but i suppose in another 10 or so years the vfr4's and cbr4's will be like rocking horse s**t to get hold of too so they will probably rocket in price lol

I would say £16,000, as the extras will fetch £1,500 and an original exhaust will be £500 to buy, so making the bike worth £15,000.
That is what I would want for my RL, [one of the last ones] but it has done a lot less miles and is 1 owner from new and the belly pan does not want repainting.

Yes, the 45 is a better bike to ride, but the 30 seems the more exciting to me.

We all like different bikes, that is the fun of it all.

Maybe not,

They were all mass produced compared to the RC30.. the early NC30's are almost as old as the RC30, give or take a year.

The NC30's / NC35's will be more collectible than the NC21 / 24's.

Same with the CBR400's, I think only the gullarm will be collectible

Under 9,000 quid though and it looks like it's in the UK. Tatty but a couple of grand would make it nice.
9K and steady spending over a year or two I could imagine but 17K?
The dearest one I've seen, with 1k on the clock, was for sale for over 23,000 quid.
