As Evilchicken has said, just turning up the idle adjuster knob might work. You can access it from the side of the bike towards the rear of the petrol tank, between frame and tank. Black adjuster knob turning clockwise to increase idle speed. If not, carb balancing is a simple enough DIY job if you can borrow a set of carb balancers. Plenty of threads on here how to do it and also how to cobble together a home made kit. One final thought could be the mixture if it will only idle on choke. Might be running lean.

ok. the idle screw on my bike it sort of stuck haha. it screwed all the way in and stuck. with it being all the way in does that mean it should idle or would it have to be screwed out to make it idle?
i will have a look at the carbs balance thing. i have to put the restrictors in yet so will do it after that.

cheers

Clockwise speeds up the idle so I think yours will be on full by the sounds of it.

It would be "best" to have the carbs set up. That's because you'll find it will start run idle etc better than if it hasn't been done. Over a year or two years that will be worth a lot, but it may not be your priority at the moment.

When you get riding go along to a couple of club race days, get to know a couple of riders, offer them £50 to set the carbs up and you'll probably find somebody.

the screws all the way in and it wont idle dont know why that is.
How much would it be to get the carbs done by a garage? i live in cornwall and there are no race tracks within about 300 miles. :(

hmmm - take the carbs off again and have a look at the idle adjuster it might have broken.

Ask a garage first, tell them you'd like the carbs balanced, and the idle set up see what they say.

I've just had the carbs stripped, cleaned, mixture set, float levels set and balanced and cost me around £50 so not bad value at all. The bike runs so much better.
