Sun was shining today, so got up early and stripped it down some more.

Took it out front so i would have enough room.

Took the fairings off, air box, and clocks

I noticed the front rocker cover was wet/oily. In need of a new gasket i think.

The bottom radiator is shagged as well

Pretty sure that bottom radiator is fine... especially when you see the price of a decent replacement :P Mine looked like that as im sure most do eventually, but its just a build up of mud and crap from the front tyre, take it off and soak it for ages in some soapy water to loosen the crud, then blast it from the back with a hose/ pressure washer (go easy though) to try to shift it... rinse and repeat til its spangly! Then carefully move any bent fins back into place and spray it up!

Good work on the rebuild though... really need to do mine :(

Good work!

Where does that lead go to that's coming off the front r/h intake manifold? Pretty sure there is just a screw there as standard (for vacuum balancing carbs)?

That pipe is for the scottoiler, it uses the vacum to feed the oil.

as matt says theres life in that rad yet soak it over several days you will be amazed at the crud that gets in there bottom rad mainly road filth from front wheel top rad insects and crud i did mine over the winter used an old bank card cut into a strip the right size and used it as a pojer from the back of rad to clear the fins takes ages to do but well worth the effort finish off with a coat of barbecue or vht paint and you will reap the rewards of a cooler running bike when done. the missus watched me doing this with a look of disbelief over several nights whilst she watched tv if she had gone out might have been tempted to put it in the dishwasher first lol..

nice work sir keep it going
