Youll only be getting part of the electricity you require.

OK bike now been on tickover for 1/2hr and not cut out which is longer than yesterday so thats a bonus! I think the moment of truth will be on a little local ride to and fro. I have checked the charging system IAW electrex guide and at 5000rpm putting in 14.38V which is sweet. Will update later

Well may tickover for 1/2 hour, but got about 1/2km down the road. So must be fuel issue please someone help had carbs of but didn't touch them after seeing the reg/rec wire broken :(

Did the bike cut out and stop after 1/2k or stutter and struggle?
As asked before is it different with the lights on/off?
Did you manage to rev it to redline or did it die before you got that far?

It spluttered and then cut out never got to the redline and did it with both lights on and off. I do hope this is going somewhere.

So, the charging system is now 100% sorted? You sure.

It sounds like you are getting as far as a small charges worth of battery power... Can you get another fully charged battery to try?

run the bike locally (in case you have to push it home) and see how long it lasts. A fully charged battery would last about 20 mins with no lights on, much less with lights on.

Checked that the fuel tap works yet?

Battery is good charging fine as swapped reg and battery onto other bike and took for a ride lights on etc started first time this morning so nothing wrong there. And the wiring is worse on this bike! Will check tap this afternoon when home from work. Could it be a sticky float is there a filter in the fuel tap somewhere? But will let you know how I get on with the tap later

Fuel tap checked out all ok. Sucked on the vac pipe and a good flow coming through. So where does that leave me now? I have now got the carbs off and going to check each one individually.

Carbs off and found nothing well there was a little bit of crap in one of the small holes on the side of the tube with the jet in the end. Also managed to take one side of the head off a tube not the one with the jet  Also found that the pipe that goes between the carbs with the crap rubber collers one side was sticking out so had to split refit and rebuild. Will the half sheared head make a difference?? Need to see Riley tomorrow to get some bits so if it does I will have a look in his aladins cave.

OK bike all back together left the tank off and used a funnel bike started for at least 5 secs and died and would not start again. I have had it in the past could it be the CDI as this is the last thing left?
