check the wires from the pick up to its connectors also. They have a crimped joint in the middle and usually fail there. Also check across the wires for resistance from memory should be around the 100 to 120 ohms.

I was then going to look so read them just in time.. thanks.
Is the rotor the part in the picture i put up??

Il go check the wiring now and see if thats all fine, then will come back. Let me know about the rotor and then il check that too :)

i hope its one or the other cz i think if neither of them are the problem then i've checked just about everything else so i think only leaves the CDI unit left. I hope it aint the CDI cz i need the bike 2moro!!!

Rite... I've checked all the wiring from the pick up to the CDI and its all connected and fine. I cant check if there's any risistance as i dont have a tester. I just checked the rotor tho and its different to my old engine.

This is the one on the new engine i put in...

Sorry the pics arent great but think u can see the difference.

Will the different rotors stop it firing??? Also how to you get the rotor off?? cz when i try to undo it, it just spins

It shouldn't stop it firing altogether, but it wont fire in the order required for ignition. To remove it, the bike will need to be in gear and you'll probably need an air gun, but stripes will confirm this. Oh and take the gear off on the top rhs so you dont bugger it up, this doesn't need to be put back in a precise location, so don't worry about marking it's current location, just make sure it's seated correctly when you come to put the cover back on.

i will try swapping the rotors over anyway and see if it makes a difference, it cant hurt. I also found a wire that comes from the front of the engine below the oil filter that werent connected properly that goes into the CDI with the 2 pick up wires.. Will that of effected the firing??

If the pick up is fine, the wirings all fine and i put the right rotor on in a minute and it still doesnt fire, any other suggestions on what could be stopping it fire??

Think that's just the oil sensor, not too good at lectrics tbh so it could well be connected into the cdi to prevent it from sparking when there's no oil the sump.
Again Stripes will know for sure.

i personally would swap the timing rotor and pick up over for the ones you know work from the old engine. I use an impact gun to undo the rotor bolt. It has thread lock on the bolt and is a pig to undo most of the time

The pick up thats currently fitted is off the old engine as the new engine didnt come with the left engine casing so that should in theory be working fine.

Will swap the rotor 2moro and give the pick up a clean as it may have got dirty while i was swapping the casing form one engine to another. I dont have an air gun but i have a breaker bar and rubber mallet so fingers crossed it will undo. Will give it a spin over after and let ya know what happens.

Cheers :)
