spot on neo with those measurements of oil... i put 15w in cause i am not as light as i used to be .

quite an easy job if you do things methodicaly. even for someone with little bike experiance. Just remember to make sure when you put the caps back on not to cross thread them.

I'd look into heavier springs (maxton do some progressive springs for £69) rather than just bumping up the weight of the fork oil.

By increasing the weight of the fork oil your making it more difficult for the oil to flow in both ways, which might initially feel better on soft springs but it isn't the best.

Adding 50ml extra of the correct weight fork oil might achieve the desired effect without altering the suspension too much as it'll take a bit more to bottom out.

would you get another 50mls in? when i did mine and put the springs in the level was not that far from the top of tube. it might overflow . Or could always add some length to spacer tubes that might work mate as long as the same amount was added to each fork leg

I now have the exact same problem after new fork seals were fitted. I stripped the forks off the bike and left them at the dealers to replace tos seals. I then refitted to the bike and i put the fork oil in myself.
I think i havnt put enough oil in each fork so i will try this and maybee abit of air aswell.
The forks felt fine before the the seals were changed so it must be something i have done

Unless theyve put them together wrong.

There a doddle to change on the NC24 too.

Did you measure the oil you put in them? (how much did you put in!?)

Fork oil level is 90mm (measured from TOP of tube) with leg fully compressed and fork springs removed...

I have topped mine up and now have 420ml in each fork(slisgtly more in left) and am about to go for a spin.
I still have a clunking noise and you can feel it through the handle bars .
This has only happened after the left fork had new seals, both have been done but i got one done and then the other afew weeks later, so at least i know its the left one at fault. I might take it off and take it back to them to make sure everything is in place and in order. I dont have to tools to be able to do this myself....


Oh well never mind, ide best go for a test ride first..

Test ride was a success, the suspension felt brilliant

I just hope i havnt put to much oil in to pop the new seals(they were quality seals from david silver)
